Clarkson Construction Company

Clarkson Construction Company is a leader in delivering innovative solutions to some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the Midwest. Now in its sixth generation, family-owned Clarkson continues to set the standard using 21st Century technology to connect our communities and move them closer to the future.

Way back in 1880, when G.G. (George) Clarkson founded the grading contractor that grew into Clarkson Construction Company, he used the muscle of men, mules, and horses to clear and excavate home sites in the riverside boomtown of Kansas City. The pillars on which Clarkson was originally founded live on today. Strengths such as efficiency, trust, hard work, communication, and integrity make Clarkson one of the Midwest’s largest and most diversified heavy contractors.

It would be a challenge to travel around the Kansas City Metro area and not drive across a highway built by Kansas City’s own Clarkson. They self-perform nearly all of the services required to successfully build, maintain, repair or expand the local, state and national roadways. Highway construction projects include Johnson County Gateway Project, the Grandview Triangle, and I-435/I-70/US-40.

Highway construction projects, private/commercial developments, residential developments, power plants or even golf courses, Clarkson continues to serve as one of the region's premier site development and grading companies. Site development projects include Legends East Retail Development, Olathe Soccer Complex, and KCI - Intermodal Business Centre Lot E.

Beginning with mid-1900s projects like the Paseo Bridge, to 21st century projects like the Christopher S. Bond Bridge over the Missouri River and the I-35/SW Trafficway bridge near downtown Kansas City - Clarkson has constructed some of the most critical pathways in the Kansas City region. Bridge construction projects include Christopher S. Bond Bridge, Broadway Bridge over I-670, and the I-35/Southwest Trafficway Bridge.

Using the latest technologies, such as concrete-paving slipform machinery, and with years of experience, Clarkson can deliver miles of new highways and bridges on time and on budget. Concrete paving projects include Johnson County Gateway Project, the Grandview Triangle and I-435 and 69 Highway.
